Carrot and Turmeric Juice

I admit that I may be a little obsessed with carrots lately, but the recipe for this Carrot and Turmeric Juice was way too good not to share!

And what a better way to enjoy a freshly squeezed juice than with a yummy Mango and Chia Seeds energy bar from Crownhealth?

Cold-pressed juices have a fantastic detoxifying and nourishing effect on the body.
The absence of fiber, allows the nutrients to immediately enter the blood flow, without having to wait for the digestion process.

If you don’t have a cold press juicer in your kitchen, don’t worry! You can always use a blender with some water and then sift the pulp out (see notes at the end of the recipe).

Carrots are rich in antioxidants, betacarotene (perfect for the warmer season), vitamin K and potassium. Whereas the curcumin, contained in turmeric, is a fantastic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

Together they create an amazing antioxidant and refreshing drink 🙂

And what about the amazing benefits of chia seeds contained in these yummy energy bars?
These little guys are a potent source of omega3, omega 6, and calcium and help increasing digestion.
A small handful every day can make miracles!

As always, the energy bars are vegan, organicgluten-free, without added sugar or additives and absolutely delicious 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 6 carrots
  • 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric
  • 1 red apple
  • 1/2-inch piece of fresh ginger
  • juice of 1 lemon

Method:

  1. Start by washing the carrots and the apple.
  2. Peel the ginger and turmeric and take the seeds off the apple.
  3. Add all the ingredients, except for the lemon juice, into the cold press juicer (or blender), and let it work.
  4. When it’s done, add the lemon juice and enjoy fresh.

N.B. If you’re using a blender, add a glass of water and blend well. Sift the juice using a clean cloth and add the lemon juice.

The juice can be stored in the fridge up to 3 days, but it’s best to be enjoyed fresh.
