Spicy Curry Popcorn

My all-time favorite movie night snack is hands down popcorn! Salty or sweet, super crunchy and tasty, can turn a simple night-in into a little party! I have to admit that I prefer the spicy and salty tastes like this one, but I never say no to a big bowl of chocolate and caramel popcorn.. just to be clear 🙂

This recipe is very simple to make (which is my favorite kind of recipe!) and perfect to indulge into  that salty craving and still staying healthy!

Does it sound appealing to you? Than grab a big bowl, choose a good movie and a blanket because we’re about to transform you home into a movie theater 🙂

Ingredients:

• 1 tbsp coconut oil
• 1 tbsp popcorn kernels
• 1 ½ tsp salt
• ¾ tsp curry powder
• ½ tsp garam masala
• ½ tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp grounded sesame seeds
• ¼ tsp cumin

Preparation:

In a small frying pan start toasting the spices for a few minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
Grab a big pot and melt ½ tbsp of coconut oil.
Add the kernels, stir well and cover with the lid.
Cook for 3 minutes at low heat moving the pan occasionally.
You’re going to start hearing popping, don’t open the pot before the 3 minutes are done.
After the 3 minutes, the popping should stop or slow down drastically.
Turn off the heat and let it cool for a second.
Add the rest of the oil and mix well.
Finally add the toasted spices and combine everything well together.
Serve hot in a big bowl and enjoy you home theater experience 🙂
